Law Enforcement Torch Run Ignites Downtown Nashville Ahead of 2026 USA Games

Flame of Hope Lights Up Downtown Nashville as Final Leg of Torch Run Heads to 2026 Special Olympics

The Law Enforcement Torch Run® (LETR) for the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games will blaze through Downtown Nashville on the morning of June 13, 2026, as the iconic Flame of Hope makes its historic coast-to-coast journey toward Minnesota. This momentous relay unites law enforcement officers and Special Olympics athletes, symbolizing community inclusion and empowerment just days ahead of the Games’ opening ceremony.

Sponsored by Jersey Mike’s Subs, the flames will light up the city starting at 10:30 a.m., traveling through Downtown Nashville and down legendary Broadway before culminating at a ceremony at Bridgestone Arena Plaza at 11:30 a.m. This marks a pivotal stop on the final leg of a relay that began in Chicago, the birthplace of Special Olympics, spanning 13 states and nearly 10,000 miles.

More than 3,000 athletes will compete in the 2026 USA Games in Minnesota from June 20-26, including 118 representatives from Tennessee. Among those carrying the torch in Nashville are specially selected law enforcement officers and Special Olympics athletes recognized for outstanding leadership and dedication to the movement—an honor reserved for only the most committed participants.

Law Enforcement and Athletes Team Up to Inspire Inclusion and Community Support

Adam Germek, President and CEO of Special Olympics Tennessee, emphasized the significance of Nashville’s involvement: “It’s an honor for Nashville to be part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run’s Final Leg to the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games. This Torch Run represents the strong partnership between law enforcement and Special Olympics athletes, and it sends a clear message that inclusion belongs in every community.”
