Urgent: Woman Injured in Jamestown Tanker Truck Accident

URGENT UPDATE: A serious accident in Jamestown has left one woman injured, prompting immediate medical attention. The collision occurred just after 11 a.m. on November 2, 2023, at 900 1st Ave. S, in front of the former Hardee’s, as confirmed by Lt. Nick Hardy of the Jamestown Police Department.

According to reports, a tanker truck filled with unleaded gas was in the outside lane, while a pickup truck was in the inside lane, both turning north onto First Avenue from Business Loop West. Witnesses suggest that the male driver of the pickup truck may have overcorrected, resulting in a collision with the tanker. The impact was severe, dragging the pickup for approximately 30 feet.

Emergency services were activated quickly, with the Jamestown Fire Department dispatched at 10:56 a.m.. A total of 14 firefighters responded, utilizing a heavy rescue vehicle to assist at the scene. Firefighters had to cut the door off the pickup truck to rescue the female passenger, who reported neck and back injuries. She was subsequently transported by the Jamestown Area Ambulance to Jamestown Regional Medical Center for further evaluation.

No other injuries were reported in the incident, which was cleared by the Jamestown Fire Department by 11:35 a.m.. The situation remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause of the accident.
