BREAKING: Chicago Police are urgently searching for a suspect involved in an armed robbery on the CTA Orange Line early Saturday morning. The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. in the Clearing neighborhood, heightening concerns over safety in public transit.
According to authorities, the suspect approached a passenger aboard the train in the 4600 block of W. 59th Street. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 20-30 years old, standing between 6’00” and 6’02” tall, weighing around 180 lbs. He has short hair and possibly tattoos on both arms.
Witnesses report that the suspect was last seen wearing a distinctive light-colored jersey emblazoned with “Wild One” and the number “13” on the front. The back of the jersey features the word “trouble” alongside two panther faces. He also wore black pants with the phrase “Nah I’m good” printed in white on the upper left leg and black gym shoes.
In light of this incident, police urge the public to remain vigilant while using public transportation. Authorities advise passengers to be aware of their surroundings, report any suspicious behavior, and press the emergency button on the train if they feel threatened. In an emergency, riders should call 911 immediately.
