UPDATE: Pelham, NH police urgently seek public assistance following a dramatic rollover crash that occurred early Saturday morning, injuring one driver and prompting a search for a fleeing vehicle. At approximately 12:20 a.m., emergency responders rushed to Windham Road near Hobbs Road, where a GMC Yukon was discovered overturned on its passenger side, with a trailer attached, in the yard of 255 Hobbs Road.
The driver of the Yukon suffered minor injuries and was promptly transported to a local hospital by Pelham Fire Department. Although two passengers within the SUV were evaluated at the scene and found uninjured, the incident has raised significant concerns among local authorities.
According to police reports, the Yukon was traveling south on Windham Road when a Ford Expedition heading north crossed the centerline. In an attempt to avoid a head-on collision, the Yukon swerved off the road, resulting in the rollover. Witnesses reported that the Expedition briefly halted after the crash before fleeing down Hobbs Road toward Route 38.
Police have intensified their efforts to locate the Expedition, urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has pertinent information to contact Cpl. James Locke at [email protected] or call 603-635-2411. The search for the vehicle is ongoing, and officers are actively monitoring the area.
In a troubling context, Pelham Police took to social media to alert the community about increased traffic incidents. Just hours after the rollover, at around 11:30 a.m., the department reported responding to five separate motor vehicle accidents within a span of just over 24 hours. Notably, four of these incidents occurred on Mammoth Road, including one tragic crash on Thursday night where a 19-year-old man lost his life after his Volkswagen Jetta rolled over and struck a utility pole. His identity has not yet been disclosed.
The Pelham community is urged to remain vigilant as police continue their investigation into this latest crash. With multiple accidents in such a short period, authorities are emphasizing the need for drivers to exercise caution on the roads.
As this situation develops, follow updates from Pelham Police for further details on the search for the Expedition and ongoing safety advisories.
