URGENT UPDATE: Major lane closures are set to disrupt traffic on U.S. 422 in Lower Pottsgrove Township next week as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) continues critical roadway and bridge reconstruction. Motorists should prepare for significant delays from November 17 to November 21, 2023.
Roadwork will cause lane closures on westbound U.S. 422 between the Sanatoga (Evergreen Road) and Armand Hammer Boulevard interchanges daily from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Meanwhile, eastbound lanes will also be restricted between Armand Hammer Boulevard and Sanatoga (Evergreen Road) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Motorists are strongly advised to allow extra travel time, as severe backups and delays are expected.
Additionally, Sanatoga Road remains closed and rerouted between Linfield Road and High Street through December 1, 2023, due to ongoing demolition of the westbound side of the bridge over U.S. 422. Drivers are directed to utilize High Street, Evergreen Road, and Linfield Road as alternative routes.
This construction is part of a larger $83.6 million project aimed at reconstructing and enhancing approximately 2.1 miles of the expressway. The initiative is crucial for improving safety and traffic flow in the area, but it will temporarily impact daily commutes.
Residents and commuters are urged to stay informed about the latest updates from PennDOT, as all scheduled activities are weather dependent. As the work progresses, drivers are encouraged to share this information to help spread awareness and reduce traffic congestion.
Stay tuned for further developments!
