UPDATE: The highly anticipated 100 Women Who Care event is set for November 13, 2024, in Bemidji, where over 100 women will unite to raise $10,000 for a local nonprofit. This impactful evening promises not only to generate substantial funds but also to foster community spirit and generosity.
The event will be held at the beautiful SouthShore Hotel on Lake Bemidji, located at 1019 Paul Bunyan Drive South. Doors open at 5 p.m. for a social hour featuring a cash bar and light appetizers, with the main event kicking off promptly at 6 p.m. and concluding by 7 p.m.
This fourth iteration of the event has already garnered excitement, as past gatherings have exceeded the initial fundraising goals. The first event in April 2024 raised $11,700 for Evergreen Youth and Family Services, followed by $14,500 for the Village of Hope in November, and $17,000 for the Boys and Girls Club of Bemidji in April 2025.
Participants will each contribute $100, which will go directly to the selected nonprofit organization. Attendees will receive a voting ticket upon arrival, allowing them to nominate and vote for a local nonprofit to receive the evening’s proceeds. Notably, the event streamlines the fundraising process—there are no emails collected, no silent auctions, and no additional pledges are required.
“It’s a simple and effective way to give back to our community,”
said a committee member. The event aims to create a joyful atmosphere, and the committee anticipates record attendance this year, building on the momentum from previous events.
Generous funding sources have covered appetizer costs, ensuring that every dollar raised goes directly to the chosen nonprofit. For those unable to attend in person, donations can still be made through a friend or by contacting event organizers directly.
This initiative emphasizes community involvement and aims to support various local organizations. With a growing number of nonprofits in the Bemidji area, the committee enforces a rule that no agency can receive funding more than once every four years, ensuring a wide impact across the local community.
As the date approaches, women in the Bemidji area are encouraged to gather for this meaningful event. With the potential to exceed $10,000 in donations, the 100 Women Who Care event is not just a fundraiser, but a powerful statement of community solidarity and generosity.
