Provo Man Charged with 12 Felonies for Sending CSAM to Cop

UPDATE: A Provo man has been charged with a staggering 12 felonies after allegedly sending child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to an undercover officer posing as an adult male with a teenage nephew. Josue Daniel McBride, aged 32, faces serious allegations, including two counts of enticing a minor and multiple counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

The arrest took place on November 10, 2025, when McBride was taken into custody by the Lehi Police Department. He is currently being held without bail at the Utah County Jail. This incident raises urgent concerns about the safety of minors and highlights ongoing efforts to combat child exploitation online.

According to court documents, on or around November 5, 2025, an undercover officer initiated contact on the social media platform Reddit, using an alias to pose as an adult male with a 13-year-old nephew. The undercover officer’s post included emojis recognized by law enforcement as indicators of sexual attraction to children. Shortly after, McBride responded, indicating his own interest in CSAM through similar emoji use.

As the conversation progressed to a different messaging platform, McBride reportedly expressed a desire to engage in sexual activities with the imaginary nephew. He even asked to see photos of the minor, offering to share explicit videos of children in return. Shockingly, McBride allegedly sent videos of children, some as young as 10 to 12 years old, involved in sexual acts.

In a disturbing twist, when the undercover officer hesitated to respond quickly, McBride deleted their messages. He later contacted the officer again, seeking further explicit content and indicating he possessed CSAM obtained from another source. Authorities are scrutinizing McBride’s actions closely, given the gravity of the charges against him.

This alarming case underscores the persistent threat of child exploitation in online spaces. Officials are urging the public to report any suspected child sexual abuse material by contacting local law enforcement or the ICAC Tip Line at (801) 281-1211.

The investigation remains active, and authorities are working diligently to ensure that justice is served. As this case develops, it serves as a potent reminder of the need for vigilance in protecting children from online predators.
