UPDATE: The 41st annual Medina Candlelight Walk concluded in a festive atmosphere with the much-anticipated “Carols by Candlelight” event on November 23. This cherished tradition, hosted by St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, attracted 125 guests, who were welcomed into a beautifully decorated space illuminated by candlelight.
The evening kicked off with a warm welcome from Rev. Kelly Aughenbaugh, who expressed gratitude to attendees and invited them to join in singing alongside the Chancel Choir and guest musicians. The program featured eight beloved carols, including classics like “O Come All Ye Faithful” and “Silent Night,” with lyrics provided in a special program for all guests.
The event was a heartwarming celebration of community spirit, enhanced by solo performances from soprano Kimberly States, who captivated the audience with “Gesu Bambino,” and baritone Ken Rutski, who delivered a stirring rendition of “O Holy Night.” Accompanying the choir were talented musicians, including Barb Fiegler (flute), Elaine Stone (piano), and Sara Hart (cello), creating a rich, harmonious sound that resonated throughout the church.
As the evening drew to a close, guests enjoyed cookies and hot cocoa in the gallery, mingling with choir members and sharing in the warmth of the holiday spirit.
Looking ahead, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will host an exciting Christmas program featuring Mr. Jingeling, St. Nicholas, and the Grinch on December 6 from 9 to 11 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP by calling the church office at 330-725-4131 by December 3.
This year’s Candlelight Walk and “Carols by Candlelight” not only brought joy and music to the Medina community but also highlighted the importance of togetherness during the festive season. With the holiday spirit in full swing, the church invites everyone to join in the upcoming celebrations.
