The driver initially denied consuming alcohol but later confessed to drinking three beers at the hotel. His passenger admitted to having two glasses of wine. The driver failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for operating a motor vehicle impaired and possessing an open container.
Additionally, at 10:12 a.m. on the same day, police were called to a hotel for a disturbance involving a man and a woman arguing in the lobby. Officers apprehended the man a short distance away, finding him in possession of a handgun. He was arrested on an outstanding warrant from the Berea Police Department and the weapon was secured for safety.
