Indiana House Opens Page Program for Students in 2026 Session

UPDATE: The Indiana House of Representatives is urgently inviting young Hoosiers to engage directly in the legislative process as pages for the 2026 session. State Representatives Jack Jordan and Jake Teshka have announced that students aged 13 to 18 can take part in this enriching opportunity, beginning in January.

This immersive program allows students to witness democracy in action while interacting with lawmakers and House staff. “Interacting with other pages, House staff, and lawmakers while seeing the legislative process firsthand is a rewarding experience,” stated Jordan, emphasizing the importance of civic engagement.

The House Page Program will run every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. until the session concludes, structured to accommodate school schedules. Participating students will receive a one-day excused absence under Indiana law, making this opportunity accessible for eager learners.

To seize this chance, parents and students can contact the page program director via email at [email protected]. Additionally, group visits are available on Wednesdays, and interested parties can gather more information and apply through IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/PageProgram.

“I always look forward to welcoming students from our area of the state and showing them what the legislative process looks like up close,” Teshka remarked, highlighting the program’s local engagement. However, participants are reminded that they are responsible for their own lunch and transportation to the Statehouse in Indianapolis.

This unique opportunity not only fosters an early appreciation for civic duty but also allows students to take an active part in shaping the future of their state. As the 2026 legislative session approaches, this program is expected to draw significant interest, making it vital for aspiring young leaders to act quickly.
