UPDATE: A Green Valley motorist has been charged with a misdemeanor following a disturbing road rage incident where she allegedly brandished a BB gun. The L.A. County District Attorney’s Office filed the charge on September 13, 2023, stemming from a confrontation that occurred on September 9 in Saugus, California.
Authorities report that 36-year-old Willow Aragno threatened another driver with what appeared to be a firearm during an afternoon altercation. The incident took place near the intersection of Copper Hill Drive and Decoro Drive, prompting an immediate investigation by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The victim, who is a military veteran, described how Aragno’s black Toyota aggressively followed his vehicle before both parties stopped at the intersection. He reported that Aragno pointed a semiautomatic firearm at him, which he identified as a Beretta M9. According to the search warrant request, the victim was able to positively identify Aragno in a photograph lineup provided by detectives.
While detectives initially categorized the incident as an assault with a deadly weapon, the charge was later adjusted to a misdemeanor. Sheriff’s department records indicate that Aragno was arrested on September 11 and was released after her preliminary arraignment on September 13 under her own recognizance.
A representative for the District Attorney’s Office was not immediately available for comment. However, the case has raised significant concerns about road safety and aggressive driving behaviors.
As this case develops, authorities are urging motorists to report any aggressive driving incidents to ensure public safety. The community is left wondering what further actions may be taken against Aragno as the legal process unfolds.
Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story as the investigation continues and more details emerge.
