Born on July 21, 1940, in Derry, New Hampshire, Jerry Cote was a graduate of Pinkerton High School and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he earned a degree in Engineering. His career at General Electric spanned over 30 years, during which he held various managerial positions across the country, culminating in Vice Presidential roles in Louisville, KY, and Schenectady, NY.
Jerry’s personal life was marked by his enduring love for his wife, Sally, whom he married in July 1963. Together, they shared a life full of joy and support until her passing. He was also a devoted father to his late son, Brian, passionately coaching him in baseball throughout his youth.
An avid sports enthusiast, Jerry excelled in three sports during his high school years and continued to showcase his athleticism by playing football in college. Later in life, he discovered a passion for golf, competing and enjoying rounds with friends and family. A dedicated fan, he supported the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, religiously following each game.
Jerry is survived by his sons, Andrew (Sydney) and Christopher (Julia), and his two great-grandchildren, Sunday and Archer, who brought him immense joy in his later years.
In accordance with Jerry’s wishes, there will be no formal service. Instead, the family requests memorial contributions be made in his name to The Foundation for Ellis Hospital at 1101 Nott Street, Schenectady, NY 12308.
