UPDATE: Actress Elaine Hendrix has announced her return to Dancing With the Stars (DWTS) rehearsals just days after being hospitalized due to a rib injury. In a heartfelt Instagram update on October 29, 2023, Hendrix, 54, confirmed she is recovering and plans to hit the dance floor again this Friday, ahead of the upcoming live show on November 4.
In a video shared with fans, Hendrix, alongside her partner Alan Bersten, stated, “I’m doing OK. I am up and about. I am tender. I am sore. But I’m starting pain management today.” She emphasized her commitment to return to the show, saying, “I want to dance, I want to keep doing this.”
Earlier this month, Hendrix experienced severe rib pain during rehearsals for the Halloween Night episode, leading to her hospitalization. She revealed that the injury occurred while practicing to Wicked’s “Defying Gravity.” “I couldn’t move. They brought me to the hospital,” she explained. Doctors advised a brief rest, allowing her to continue her DWTS journey.
Hendrix expressed disappointment over missing the Halloween episode and shared behind-the-scenes photos of her costume inspired by Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road. “The hardest part of yesterday was not being able to show you just how incredible our piece could have been,” she lamented.
Despite her absence, Hendrix and Bersten received scores of 8s from the judges based on footage from their last full rehearsal, which was enough to save them from elimination thanks to fan votes. Bersten remarked during a TikTok Live session, “You guys voted, we are going to be safe. We got another dance to do.”
As anticipation builds for their return, fans are eager to see Hendrix back in the ballroom for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-themed episode next week. The DWTS community has rallied around her, expressing support and enthusiasm for her recovery.
Stay tuned for more updates as this story develops and as Hendrix prepares to make her exciting comeback to the dance competition.
