De La Salle Dominates Amador Valley with 56-13 Victory

UPDATE: In a stunning display of power, the De La Salle Spartans crushed Amador Valley 56-13 on Friday night, solidifying their position as the Bay Area News Group’s top-ranked high school football team. This decisive victory pushes De La Salle’s record to an impressive 7-0, as they continue their pursuit of the state’s championship title.

The Spartans wasted no time establishing dominance. Just moments into the game, Jayden Nicholas electrified the crowd by returning the opening kickoff an astounding 80 yards for a touchdown. Following this explosive start, quarterback Brayden Knight connected with Dylan Scott for a 30-yard touchdown, and soon after, a 15-yard scoring pass to Landon Cook put De La Salle ahead 21-0 before the first quarter was halfway over.

The onslaught continued as Knight’s 30-yard touchdown pass to Emery Speight extended the lead to 27-0. By the end of the first quarter, the Spartans had built a staggering 35-0 lead, with Greg Jones adding an 18-yard rushing touchdown and Jamal Johnson-Lucas converting a two-point attempt. Knight capped off the first-quarter frenzy with a 10-yard touchdown run, pushing the score to 42-0.

Amador Valley (record: 2-6) finally got on the scoreboard in the second quarter when Vincent Maiorana sprinted 68 yards for a touchdown, reducing the deficit to 42-6. However, it was clear that De La Salle was in control throughout.

As the Spartans look forward, they have three regular-season games remaining, including a matchup against San Ramon Valley next Friday, October 27, followed by home games against California on October 30 and Clayton Valley Charter on November 7.
