Children Invited to Urgent Halloween Storytelling Event in Ashburnham

URGENT UPDATE: Families in Ashburnham, mark your calendars! An exciting Halloween storytelling event featuring renowned storyteller Todd Goodwin is set for Thursday, October 23, 2023, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Stevens Memorial Library, located at 20 Memorial Drive.

This free event, dubbed the “Halloween Campfire for Children,” promises to ignite imaginations as Goodwin shares captivating tales around a “campfire” atmosphere—whether real or imagined. As a celebrated storyteller with over 45 years of experience, Goodwin is known for his unique ability to transport audiences to different realms using only his voice.

“Around the campfire there are no costumes or sets, just the face and voice of the teller who uses the imagination of the listeners to travel to different places in time and space,” Goodwin explained. His storytelling draws inspiration from his extensive background in drama and history, along with personal camping experiences that resonate deeply with children and families alike.

The event is organized by the Friends of the Stevens Memorial Library, aimed at providing a family-friendly experience that encourages participation and creativity. Goodwin’s storytelling sessions are designed not only for entertainment but also to foster connections among listeners.

“I enjoy watching listeners’ faces as they use their imagination to get into a story,” Goodwin added. “And they always do!” This interactive experience is a fantastic opportunity for families to enjoy an evening of fun and imagination.

Space is limited, so interested attendees are encouraged to register as soon as possible. For more information or to sign up, please visit the library’s official website at ashburnhamlibrary.org.
