Arthur John MacNeel, Beloved Nurse, Passes Away at 71

BREAKING: The community mourns the loss of Arthur John MacNeel, who passed away peacefully at home on November 2, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on October 11, 1954, in Laramie, Wyoming, Arthur’s legacy as a compassionate Registered Nurse and devoted family man will be cherished forever.

Arthur’s career spanned an impressive 34 years at Dominican Hospital in Soquel, California, where he dedicated his life to caring for others until his retirement in 2020. His impact on patients and colleagues alike was profound, and he was known for his kindness and unwavering support.

Beyond his professional life, Arthur was a passionate organic farmer and found joy in spending time with his family at their cabin nestled in the breathtaking Rocky Mountains of Wyoming. Friends and family describe him as a gentle soul who loved unconditionally.

He is survived by his beloved children, Maya DeMontaigu-MacNeel and Orion DeMontaigu-MacNeel, his treasured grandchild Dominic De La Cruz, and his siblings Adela Klima and Edward MacNeel. Arthur is preceded in death by his parents, Neale and Beverly MacNeel, who instilled in him the values of compassion and community service.

In accordance with his wishes, Arthur was cremated with the assistance of Ave Maria Memorial Chapel. Plans are underway for a private Celebration of Life to honor his memory in December 2025.
