Olean General and BRMC Team Up for Community Blood Drives

Olean General Hospital and Bradford Regional Medical Center are partnering with ConnectLife to host community blood drives in December. The initiative aims to bolster local blood supplies while encouraging residents to contribute to a vital cause.

The first blood drive is scheduled for today, December 7, from 08:00 to 13:00. It will take place on the ConnectLife Bus located at the Mildred Milliman Outpatient Surgery Center, situated directly across from Olean General Hospital. Interested donors can book an appointment by visiting connectlifegiveblood.org and entering sponsor code 000485, or by calling (716) 529-4270.

Meanwhile, Bradford Regional Medical Center will host its drive on December 14, from 10:00 to 15:00 in the hospital’s main lobby. Individuals wishing to participate can schedule an appointment by visiting the same website and using sponsor code 000468, or by contacting Kim Murphey at (814) 362-8298.

According to ConnectLife, a single pint of donated blood can save up to three lives within the local community. In recognition of their contributions, all donors throughout December will receive a pair of tickets to an upcoming Buffalo Sabres home game.

In addition to the blood drives, ConnectLife has launched a new promotion called Suite Seats for Life Savers. Running until December 31, this initiative offers donors a chance to win a suite at Highmark Stadium for the Buffalo Bills’ final regular season game. To qualify, donors must make either two whole blood donations and one double red cell donation, or four platelet donations during the promotional period.

These blood drives serve as a vital reminder of the importance of community support in maintaining blood supplies. The collaboration between Olean General Hospital, Bradford Regional Medical Center, and ConnectLife highlights the local commitment to saving lives through donation.
