Lady Titans Secure Win and Tie at Gulf Coast Classic Tournament

The Victoria East Lady Titans soccer team achieved a win and a tie during their opening day at the Gulf Coast Classic Tournament held in Corpus Christi on March 14, 2024. This tournament marks the beginning of a three-day non-district competition featuring several teams from the region.

In their first match, the Lady Titans faced the Bay City Ladycats, resulting in a 0-0 tie. Goalkeeper Lydia Traxler was instrumental in maintaining the tie, making an impressive seven saves throughout the game. The Titans struggled offensively, with Carlee Kerley registering the only shot on goal for her team.

The second match saw a significant turnaround as the Lady Titans secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Cypress Park. The decisive moment came when McKenna Chaput scored with a header from a corner kick delivered by Bay Hysquierdo. Chaput’s goal was the only one of the match, and she accounted for both of the Titans’ shots on goal. Traxler continued her strong performance in goal, recording another seven saves to ensure the team’s win.
