Elite Quarterback Jayden Wade to Reveal College Choice on Nov. 16

Four-star quarterback Jayden Wade, the top-ranked player in the 2028 recruiting class according to 247 Sports, is set to announce his college decision on November 16. His final choices include a competitive lineup of seven schools from the Big Ten Conference and the Southeastern Conference (SEC): the Oregon Ducks, Michigan Wolverines, Georgia Bulldogs, Texas Longhorns, Florida Gators, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Washington Huskies.

Wade has been a standout player at national powerhouse IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, since he began playing varsity football in the eighth grade. Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 190 pounds, he has impressive statistics: 24 touchdown passes, four interceptions, and 1,772 passing yards with a completion rate of 63.8% across 23 games. Additionally, he has rushed for five touchdowns and accumulated 501 rushing yards on 58 carries.

Wade’s Development and Recruitment Process

His head coach at IMG Academy, Greg Studrawa, who previously served as the offensive line coach for the Ohio State Buckeyes, has drawn comparisons between Wade and current Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud. This highlights Wade’s potential and the high expectations surrounding his future in college football. According to Rivals reporter Chad Simmons, Wade has a clear vision of what he seeks in his next football destination.

Despite not having taken any official visits yet, Wade unofficially attended Oregon’s spring game and participated in the summer camp in Eugene. With his commitment announcement approaching, Rivals predicts that he may choose coach Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs. Nonetheless, if he opts for Athens, there remains ample time for other programs to attempt to sway him.

Oregon Ducks’ Recruitment Strategy

As of now, the Ducks have yet to secure any commitments in the Class of 2028. Besides Wade, head coach Dan Lanning and offensive coordinator Will Stein have extended scholarship offers to eight other quarterbacks across the country. These include:

– Four-star Neimann Lawrence from Northwestern in Miami, Florida
– Four-star Donald Tabron II from Case Technical in Detroit, Michigan
– Three-star AJ Tuivaiave from Graham-Kapowsin in Graham, Washington
– Three-star Ayden Edwards from Tustin in Tustin, California
– Three-star Ace Amina from Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, Nevada
– Three-star Jamar Howard from Clovis West in Fresno, California
– Three-star Graham Simpson from Westview in Martin, Tennessee
– Unranked Grayson Clary from Rabun Gap-Nacoochee in Rabun Gap, Georgia

In the previous recruiting cycle, the Ducks offered scholarships to 11 quarterbacks in the Class of 2027, but none have committed. For the 2026 class, four-star quarterback Bryson Beaver from Vista Murrieta in Murrieta, California, has already committed to the program after flipping from the Boise State Broncos.

As the clock ticks down to Wade’s decision, the college football landscape watches intently. His choice will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the recruiting efforts of the schools vying for his talent.
