Remembering Gloria Ronnau: A Life of Love and Devotion

Gloria “Glo” Ronnau, a beloved matriarch and community figure, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. Born in Los Angeles in 1921, she was the daughter of Henry and Bertha Becnel. Gloria’s life was marked by her unwavering commitment to family and faith, shaping the lives of those around her over her remarkable 104 years.

Growing up, Gloria attended Fremont High School and later joined the workforce at the Owl Rexall headquarters, where she met her husband, Don Ronnau. The couple shared a deep bond until Don’s passing in 2007. Together, they nurtured a family rooted in values of faith, loyalty, and unconditional love.

A Legacy of Family

Gloria was a devoted mother to four children: Donny Ronnau, who passed away in 2023; Diane Ronnau, who died in 2022; Ann Sidler (Derald); and Carol Randolph. Her pride extended to her grandchildren, including Jennifer Randolph, Vincent Randolph (Krystal), Chris Randolph, Tracy Sidler (Eric), and Aidan and Ben Osterman. Additionally, she cherished her role as a great-grandmother to Jackson, Julianna, Jillian, Devin, and Tristan.

Her career spanned 20 years with the Los Angeles Unified School District, where she worked at Banning High School and Dodson Middle School. Gloria’s impact reached far beyond the classroom; she dedicated herself to raising her children and supporting her extended family, ensuring that her home was a sanctuary of warmth and nourishment.

A Life Well-Lived

Gloria was a steady presence, often the one others turned to for support and guidance. Her faith was exhibited in her humility and generosity, manifesting in her actions rather than loud proclamations. She lived a life that prioritized connection over accolades, demonstrating devotion to her family and her beliefs.

Throughout her life, Gloria witnessed a century of change but remained steadfast in the values that defined her. Her legacy is not measured by public recognition but by the love she fostered in her family and community.
