Debra Jean Rozas, known affectionately as Debbie, passed away on February 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 25, 1959, in Laguna Beach, California, to Don and Nancy Gavel. Her legacy is marked by her devotion to her family and her significant contributions to her community.
Debbie graduated from San Clemente High School in 1977 and later met her husband, Dave Rozas, on a blind date on February 21, 1986. Their connection was immediate, leading to a marriage nine months later on November 16, 1986. Together, they created a nurturing environment for their children, David and Dillon, who were born in December 1989 and November 1993, respectively.
Throughout her life, Debbie was actively involved in her sons’ activities, often volunteering at events and sports leagues. She became a familiar presence at the ball field, supporting the Rolling Hills Little League, as well as Mira Catalina and Peninsula High School. Her commitment to her community made her a beloved figure in the area.
Debbie’s greatest joy came from her family. She found immense pride in her two sons and later embraced her role as a grandmother, affectionately known as “Nana D.” She is survived by her husband, Dave; sons David and Dillon; daughters-in-law Brittany and Alexis; and three grandchildren, Laney, David, and Blake.
The family has announced a memorial service to honor her life, scheduled for March 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Green Hills Cemetery in Rancho Palos Verdes. Friends and community members are encouraged to join in celebrating the life of a woman who dedicated herself to her loved ones and her community.
Debbie’s passing leaves a profound void, but her spirit and dedication to family and community will continue to inspire those who knew her.
