Stephanie Singe-Cully Launches Campaign for Family Court Judge

Former Assistant District Attorney and current Family Court Attorney Stephanie Singe-Cully officially announced her candidacy for the position of Oneida County Family Court Judge during an event at 72 Tavern & Grill in Utica, New York, on Wednesday. Singe-Cully, who aims to secure the Republican nomination for the 2026 election, emphasized her commitment to children and families in her campaign launch speech.

Experience in Family Law

“Today, I stand before you humbled, energized and proud to officially declare my candidacy for Oneida County Family Court Judge, ” Singe-Cully stated. Her experience in Family Court has allowed her to assist individuals navigating particularly challenging and emotional circumstances. She is currently serving as the Court Attorney to the sitting judge, Hon. Paul M. Deep, where she manages legal matters critical to the safety and well-being of families.

The seat Singe-Cully is contesting will be available on the ballot in the upcoming 2026 elections, as current Family Court Judge Hon. Randall B. Caldwell has announced he will not seek re-election. Singe-Cully’s legal background includes over a decade in the Oneida County District Attorney’s office, where she served as both an Assistant District Attorney and later as the Bureau Chief of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.

Proven Track Record

During her time as a prosecutor, Singe-Cully managed thousands of cases, including serious felony-level offenses such as sexual assaults and child exploitation. Her collaborations with law enforcement played a significant role in the investigation and prosecution of child sexual offenders.

At the campaign event, former Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara praised Singe-Cully’s qualifications. “Stephanie Singe-Cully is immensely qualified to serve as our next Family Court Judge. I’ve seen her work firsthand to secure justice for families in the courtroom,” McNamara said. “She has the experience we need to serve families across Oneida County during their most challenging times.”

At just 36 years old, Singe-Cully has deep roots in the community. A lifelong resident of Oneida County, she grew up in New Hartford, graduating from LeMoyne College and Florida Coastal School of Law. She currently resides in New Hartford with her husband, Matt, and their nine-month-old son, Rocco.

Community Involvement and Future Vision

Singe-Cully expressed her dedication to improving Oneida County, stating, “As my husband and I raise our growing family here, I am as committed as ever to do everything I can to make Oneida County as safe and promising a place as it has been for me.” She outlined her vision for Family Court, emphasizing the need for fairness, accountability, and compassion within the judicial system.

In addition to her professional commitments, Singe-Cully actively contributes to her community. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Oneida County Bar Association and participates in the Community Readers program within the Utica School District.

As a registered Republican, Singe-Cully’s campaign is set against the backdrop of the New York General Election scheduled for November 3, 2026. With her extensive legal experience and community involvement, she aims to bring a new approach to the Family Court system that prioritizes the needs of families and children in Oneida County.
