Xuly.Bët Unveils Spring 2026 Collection with Focus on Healing and Unity

The Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear collection from Xuly.Bët, designed by Lamine Badian Kouyaté, made an impactful statement on the runway. The show, held in Paris, emphasized themes of health and joy, reflecting current global sentiments. Kouyaté, known for his commitment to inclusivity, drew inspiration from recent events, particularly the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Opening the show, a model donned a striking white hazmat suit complemented by a face mask, a poignant reminder of the pandemic’s confinement. Kouyaté explained through a translator, “This look pulls from the desire to heal a world that’s gone haywire, with never-ending conflicts and war.” He highlighted a collective consciousness that emphasizes unity, stating, “There is only one planet—this is the thing that unites us all. I wanted to go from this fear towards love.”

As the show progressed, the atmosphere transformed from stark and unsettling to vibrant and celebratory. It concluded with a lively performance featuring dance and music, echoing the Caribbean influences that shaped this season’s collection. Kouyaté, whose brand name means “keep your eyes open” in Wolof, urged attendees to also open their hearts.

“This collection is about the kindness shown towards one another and going beyond to look at what can unite us,” he stated. “To speak more on love than hate.” His signature elements, including screen-printed denim and red-stitched stretch separates, were prominent throughout the collection, designed for individuals who embrace their bodies and personal style.

The runway presentation not only showcased fashion but served as a platform for discussing deeper societal issues. Kouyaté’s vision encourages a reflection on community and compassion in a world often marked by division. The blend of thoughtful design and performance art left a lasting impression, reinforcing the notion that fashion can be both a form of expression and a call to action.

In a season filled with diverse interpretations of style, Xuly.Bët’s collection stands out for its heartfelt message about healing and unity in a complex world.
