Patriots Superfans Showcase Unique Wardrobes on Game Days

A pair of dedicated New England Patriots superfans have captured attention with their matching game day attire, showcasing creativity and commitment to their team. Lesley Wilkins and Pam Vetrano, friends and season ticket holders, have cultivated a unique tradition that goes beyond mere fandom.

Wilkins has held season tickets for the Patriots for over a decade and met Vetrano through their work, where they shared adjacent desks. Their journey began with a simple invitation from Vetrano: “One day she is like, ‘Hey, do you want to go to a Patriots game?’ I am like, ‘Oh absolutely,’” Vetrano recalled. Their bond solidified during that initial game, and since then, they have attended countless matches together.

Over the years, the duo has collected and crafted an impressive array of Patriots gear, totaling around 30 jackets, along with shirts, dresses, and bedazzled shoes. Their preparation for each season involves getting together to design and create outfits that reflect their team spirit. “We are very superstitious, but we always wear the same thing,” Wilkins explained, emphasizing their commitment to matching attire.

Crafting a Unique Game Day Experience

Wilkins and Vetrano’s game day ritual includes a meticulous process of coordinating their outfits. “Every game we have to match, and we are grown adults, and we match from head to toe,” Vetrano stated. They even hold meetings prior to each game, bringing all their jewelry to select which pieces to wear. “We probably have 30 pairs of earrings too,” Wilkins added, highlighting the extent of their preparation.

Although they do not sell their creations, the pair recently took the opportunity to share some of their clothing while attending Patriots games in London and Germany. “We gave away some of our gear when we were there because people there don’t have the same ability to buy the same things that we do here,” Wilkins noted. This gesture reflects their passion not just for the Patriots but also for spreading team spirit across borders.

Looking ahead, Vetrano has plans that might conflict with the Patriots’ potential Super Bowl appearance. “I will be in Japan, but I actually contemplated canceling Japan if they do make it to the Super Bowl,” she admitted, underscoring the depth of her commitment to the team.

Wilkins and Vetrano’s story is a testament to the vibrant culture of sports fandom and the creativity that can emerge from it. Their matching wardrobes have not only made a statement at games but have also fostered a deep friendship that continues to thrive in the spirit of the New England Patriots.
