New Bubble Tea Shop Opens in Portland’s Nasons Corner

A new bubble tea café has opened in the Nasons Corner neighborhood of Portland, enhancing the area’s culinary offerings. Miss Sweet Bubble Tea, located at 897 Brighton Avenue, occupies the space previously held by Tin Pan Bakery. Owner Keri Li, a seasoned restaurateur with over 30 years of experience, is excited to introduce a wide array of bubble teas, fruit teas, classic teas, and frozen drinks to the community.

The café aims to capture the growing popularity of bubble tea around the world. “Bubble tea is really popular everywhere in the world right now,” Li commented. “It’s a sweet drink, and it makes people happy.” In addition to beverages, Miss Sweet Bubble Tea also offers a selection of snacks, including pork buns, spring rolls, egg tarts, and crab rangoon, as well as desserts like cookies and puddings.

While the café currently operates on a takeout-only basis, plans are in place to add outdoor seating in the coming year. This development reflects Li’s commitment to creating a welcoming environment for customers.

Li is not new to the restaurant scene in Greater Portland. She is a co-owner of China Villa in Westbrook and has previously managed renowned establishments such as the former Jan Mee in Portland and Jan Mee II in Gorham. Her extensive background in the industry informs her approach to Miss Sweet Bubble Tea, where she aims to provide a delightful experience for all patrons.

The café is open from Wednesdays to Mondays, operating between 11:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., making it a convenient stop for those looking to enjoy a refreshing drink or snack. As the demand for bubble tea continues to grow, Miss Sweet Bubble Tea is well-positioned to become a favorite destination in Portland.

This opening is part of a broader trend, as bubble tea shops proliferate throughout Maine. With its diverse menu and Li’s expertise, the café is set to attract both loyal fans and newcomers eager to explore this popular beverage trend.
