Apply Now for Santa Clarita Valley’s Deputy Explorer Program

The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station has opened applications for its Deputy Explorer Program, aimed at young adults aged 14 to 20. This initiative offers a unique opportunity for participants to develop essential skills such as leadership, responsibility, and confidence while volunteering in their communities. To be eligible, applicants must maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.0, according to a news release from the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.

The program not only cultivates personal growth but also provides hands-on exposure to law enforcement careers. Participants will engage in training that prepares them for potential futures in public service. The Explorer Academy is set to run every Saturday for 18 weeks, beginning on February 7, 2024, and concluding on June 6, 2024, at the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station.

Applications must be submitted by January 22, 2024. Interested individuals can obtain application forms in person at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, located at 26201 Golden Valley Road, Santa Clarita.
