Patients in Lancashire have expressed their satisfaction with local GP practices in the latest GP Patient Survey, conducted by Ipsos on behalf of NHS England. More than 700,000 patients across England participated in the 2025 survey, which took place between January and March last year. As the 2026 survey is currently underway, the results highlight which surgeries are excelling in addressing patient needs.
The survey asked patients a variety of questions regarding their last appointment, focusing on whether they felt their needs had been adequately met. Nationally, results showed that 57% of patients felt their needs were “definitely” met, with an additional 33% stating their needs were met “to some extent.”
Top GP Surgeries in Lancashire
Among the practices in Lancashire, several stood out for their exceptional performance in meeting patient expectations. The surgeries are ranked by the percentage of patients who reported that their needs were “definitely” met during their last appointment.
At Slaidburn Health Centre in Clitheroe, 228 survey forms were distributed, achieving a response rate of 42%. An impressive 98% of respondents indicated that their needs were “definitely” met, with only 2% reporting that their needs were met “to some extent.”
Following closely is New Longton Surgery in Preston, where 256 survey forms were sent out, yielding a response rate of 47%. Here, 85% of patients stated their needs were “definitely” met, while 11% reported partial satisfaction.
Withnell Health Centre in Chorley also received notable feedback. Of the 247 survey forms sent, the response rate was 38%. Approximately 80% of patients felt their needs were “definitely” met, and 19% reported that their needs were met “to some extent.”
Another commendable mention is The Village Surgeries, which serves the Croston and Eccleston areas. A total of 369 survey forms were distributed, with a response rate of 33%. In this practice, 77% of patients felt their needs were “definitely” met, while 21% indicated partial satisfaction.
These results reflect a positive trend in patient satisfaction among GP practices in Lancashire, underscoring the importance of effective healthcare delivery in local communities. The survey findings serve as a valuable tool for both patients and healthcare providers, allowing for continuous improvement in services based on patient feedback.
