The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) has elected Scott Moskowitz from Qcells as its new Board Chair, alongside a diverse group of newly appointed board members. This leadership change comes as the organization aims to strengthen the U.S. solar and storage industry in 2026, a year expected to bring significant growth and challenges.
Moskowitz’s election follows the departure of Darren Van’t Hof, who stepped down from the role to serve as interim president and CEO. In his new position, Moskowitz will guide SEIA’s efforts to ensure that American-made solar and storage technologies continue to lead the nation’s energy landscape. His appointment highlights SEIA’s commitment to fostering innovation in solar manufacturing and deployment.
Dr. Ingmar Ritzenhofen, chief commercial officer of RWE Clean Energy, has been elected as vice chair. Ritzenhofen brings extensive experience in large-scale project development and grid integration, areas crucial for the future of solar energy in the United States.
As the industry prepares for a pivotal year, Van’t Hof emphasized the necessity of strong leadership amid evolving regulatory conditions. “SEIA’s success depends on experienced leadership,” he stated. “Congratulations to Scott, Ingmar, and the new board members. Together, we will ensure solar and storage continue to lead America’s energy future.”
Moskowitz expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead SEIA during this transformative period. He underscored the association’s role in promoting bipartisan policies that accelerate solar deployment, enhance domestic manufacturing, and reduce electricity costs for consumers.
In addition to Moskowitz and Ritzenhofen, the SEIA Board has elected three at-large members and appointed a representative from the SEIA affiliate. The newly elected at-large members are Yann Brandt from FTC Solar, Kellie MacPherson from Radian Generation, and Jackie Murphy from Pivot Energy. The board also established division chairs and vice chairs across SEIA’s six membership divisions, further strengthening its governance structure.
The elected chairs include:
– Distributed Generation Division Chair: Jennifer Mrzlack, PSG Energy Group
– Utility-Scale Division Chair: Frank DeRosa, DeRosa Advisors
– Utility Energy Storage Division Chair: Lauren Glickman, Encore Renewable Energy
– Manufacturing Division Chair: Corey Geiger, Enstall LLC
– Residential Division Chair: Thomas Plagemann, ClearLight Solar
– Solar Services and Consumers Division Chair: Karla Loeb, Loeb Consulting
The SEIA, founded in 1974, is the national trade association for the solar and solar-plus-storage industries. Its mission is to lead the transition to a clean energy economy, aiming for solar to provide 30% of U.S. electricity generation by 2030. With over 1,000 member companies, SEIA advocates for policies that promote job creation and ensure fair market practices in the solar sector.
