A new antique shop, Polished Porch Antique & Boutique Mall, is set to open in St. Joseph, Missouri, later this month, with a focus on fostering collaboration among local businesses. The shop aims to provide a diverse selection of products, including furniture, handmade crafts, jams, and jewelry, all under one roof.
Scheduled for a soft launch on March 4, 2026, and a grand opening on March 21, 2026, the boutique will feature products from multiple vendors. Owners Erika Frieden and Ashton Burton, who are cousins, envision their store as a hub for small businesses to thrive together. “We wanted to find somewhere to bring a bunch of small businesses under one roof,” Burton explained.
The boutique will occupy a space located at 3603 Frederick Ave. This strategic location is easily accessible for residents, making it convenient for shoppers. Frieden emphasized the uniqueness of their approach, stating, “That’s what kind of separates us from any normal antique shop, because we have such a variety of items.”
Frieden and Burton have curated a mix of vendors, some with decades of experience and others just starting out. This blend creates an environment where established vendors can share their knowledge with newcomers. “It’s been really neat to see them communicate, help each other, and grow as businesses,” Frieden noted.
In addition to hosting various vendors, the grand opening will feature food trucks and pop-up vendors to celebrate the occasion. This event aims to enhance the community spirit and attract shoppers looking for unique gifts and local products.
Vendors interested in partnering with Polished Porch Antique & Boutique Mall are encouraged to reach out via their Facebook page or by calling 816-294-3794 or 816-262-1043. With the upcoming opening, both Frieden and Burton hope to create a vibrant marketplace that strengthens the local economy and builds a sense of community.
