Divito’s Restaurant Expands Family Legacy in Tonawanda

On Delaware Avenue in Tonawanda, New York, the owners of Naked City Pizza, Jenny and Mike Divito, have taken a bold step by acquiring a nearby building to expand their culinary venture. They have transformed the space into Divito’s Restaurant, a family-oriented establishment featuring homemade Italian American cuisine. “The pizza shop was and is doing very well, and we decided, Mike and I, to take a chance and purchase the building, purchase the restaurant,” Jenny Divito explained.

Divito’s, located at 3347 Delaware Avenue, emphasizes a team-first mentality and a commitment to fresh, homemade ingredients. “Our whole idea is homemade, fresh everything, right down to the bread, salad dressings. Produce comes in every day. That was important to us,” Jenny added. Her husband, Mike, shared their vision for a welcoming restaurant: “Jenn said, I want to create a place that we would go to two to three times a week. It’s reasonably priced but it’s also great food.”

The menu at Divito’s showcases a variety of Italian American dishes, including sandwiches on freshly baked bread and hearty pasta options. One standout item is the spaghetti and meatballs, which carries significant family heritage. “The meatballs are my mom’s meatballs and so is the sauce,” Mike noted, highlighting the personal touch behind the recipes.

As Lent progresses, the restaurant has introduced an extensive seafood menu, with a focus on traditional fish fry offerings. “We always run the fish fry,” Mike stated. “You can do it broiled, you can do it beer battered. You can do it breaded. Italian style. You name it. We can do it.” He mentioned that the seafood selections began last Friday, and the community response has been enthusiastic.

Divito’s aims to be more than just a dining option; the Divitos envision it as a gathering place for the Ken-Ton community. “We went all in. Now we have this beautiful property on Delaware Avenue and two businesses that are thriving. Actually, we have a pretty good time doing it,” Mike reflected.

The restaurant opens daily at 11:00 a.m., serving both lunch and dinner. With a blend of family tradition and community spirit, Divito’s Restaurant is poised to become a cherished local destination for years to come.
