Urgent Update: Pasadena Hosts Compassionate Thanksgiving Meals Today

UPDATE: In a heartwarming show of community spirit, Union Station Homeless Services (USHS) is delivering hot Thanksgiving meals to those in need today, November 26, 2025, at their Adult Center located at 412 S Raymond Blvd, Pasadena, California. The event is part of a larger initiative to spread compassion amid rising food insecurity.

With the support of local officials and volunteers, including Rep. Laura Friedman and actress Adina Porter, this event is a vital lifeline for many facing challenges during the holiday season. “I wish we didn’t live in a world where there was so much food insecurity, but I’m beyond grateful for organizations like Feeding America that are fulfilling a need,” Porter stated.

Today’s event not only provides meals but also fosters a sense of community. Guests are invited to enjoy a sit-down meal or take food to go, with no information required to receive assistance. The meal distribution comes at a critical time as many families struggle with soaring grocery prices and reduced federal food benefits.

Former Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth made significant contributions to USHS, providing essential funding for the meal service. Additionally, the Green Foundation and Bigo Live contributed $25,000 and $15,000 respectively, showcasing the generosity of the community.

For over 50 years, the Dinner in the Park initiative has ensured that no one is turned away, offering a warm Thanksgiving meal to all who attend. As the need rises, USHS remains committed to supporting those who rely on their services.

Meanwhile, Kathryn Barger, Los Angeles County Supervisor, is actively involved in the Day of Giving, participating in community service events across the Fifth District, including helping rebuild homes for families affected by the Eaton fire.

As the event unfolds, community members are encouraged to come together to share in the holiday spirit. “I am thankful for all the volunteers and staff that have helped make this year’s meal service a success,” Friedman added, emphasizing the importance of community support.

For those in the Pasadena area, this Thanksgiving celebration not only offers a meal but also a chance to connect with others in the community, reinforcing the spirit of giving during this critical time.

As the day progresses, expect updates on the turnout and impact of this compassionate initiative. Community members are urged to share their experiences on social media to spread awareness of the ongoing efforts to support those in need.
