Three Dead, Five Injured in Fayette County Crash

UPDATE: A tragic three-vehicle crash in Henry Clay Township, Fayette County has left three people dead and five others hospitalized following an incident on October 23, 2023. The collision occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Route 40 near Dark Hollow Road, and details are still emerging.

Authorities report that a tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound on Route 40 when it veered into the westbound lanes, colliding head-on with a Ford pickup truck. The violence of the impact was compounded when the pickup truck subsequently struck a Chevrolet express van head-on. The drivers of both the tractor-trailer and the Ford pickup truck were pronounced dead at the scene, along with a front-seat passenger in the van.
