Vernon Company Volunteers Build New Home for Habitat in Newton

On October 24, 2023, volunteers from The Vernon Company collaborated with the Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity to construct a new home in Newton, Iowa. The team dedicated their day to installing roof trusses and fascia boards, significantly contributing to the building project. Eighteen employees from Vernon participated across two shifts, accumulating a total of 62 volunteer hours.

Among the volunteers was Chris Vernon, President and CEO of The Vernon Company, who expressed gratitude for the team’s efforts. “A big thank you to our 18 Vernon volunteers who spent Friday lending a hand to the new Newton Habitat home,” he stated. “The future homeowner was truly touched by everyone’s effort to help make her dream home a reality. It was a fun, rewarding day.”
