Dinners For Kids to Honor Sandy Insalaco Sr. at Nov. 5 Gala

URGENT UPDATE: Dinners For Kids will honor local business leader and philanthropist Sandy Insalaco Sr. during the organization’s 7th Annual “Thanks for Giving!” Fall Gathering on November 5, 2023, at the JCC in Kingston. This prestigious event kicks off at 5:30 PM with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner and an awards presentation.

Insalaco will receive the Distinguished Advocate for Childhood Nutrition Award for his unwavering dedication to fighting childhood hunger. His remarkable efforts have significantly impacted local families through various nonprofit and educational initiatives, including Dinners For Kids. “Few individuals embody the true spirit of giving like Sandy,” stated David Tevet, founder and executive director of Dinners For Kids. “His quiet compassion, business leadership, and deep commitment to improving the lives of children have shaped this community for generations.”

The evening will also recognize Charles “Charlie” Dancheck, who will receive the Jim Haggerty Service Award for his decades of service, including over ten years of meal deliveries with Dinners For Kids. Dinners For Kids, founded in 2011, delivers more than 75,000 freshly prepared meals annually to over 240 children in the Wilkes-Barre, West Side, and Dallas areas. The organization’s all-volunteer model guarantees that 100% of donations go directly to meal preparation, with no funds allocated for staff or facilities, highlighting its commitment to transparency and efficiency.
