Motorists traveling through Bucks County, Pennsylvania, should prepare for significant lane closures on U.S. 1 and Rockhill Drive next week. These closures are part of a major reconstruction and widening project managed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), which is valued at approximately $116 million.
Starting from October 19 through October 24, lane closures will occur nightly on U.S. 1 in both directions. The closures will be in effect from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM between Fairhill Avenue and the Route 132 (Street Road) Interchange. This is expected to create delays for drivers as the work progresses.
In addition to the nighttime restrictions, a daytime lane closure will be implemented on eastbound Rockhill Drive. From October 20 through October 24, the closure will take place from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM between Horizon Boulevard and Neshaminy Boulevard. Drivers in this area should anticipate backups and are encouraged to allow extra travel time.
This construction project is part of PennDOT’s ongoing efforts to improve road safety and traffic flow in the region. All work is weather-dependent, and updates on road conditions will be available through the MyChesCo Traffic Center.
As the project progresses, it is advisable for commuters to monitor traffic updates to minimize delays. For the latest news and road conditions in Chester County and surrounding areas, residents can follow MyChesCo on Google News and MSN for timely updates.
