The Bulldogs faced a challenging start as the Beavers netted two goals within the first 4:50 of the game. However, the trio of Zam, Max, and linemate Jayson Shaugabay rallied the team with a flurry of scoring, combining for 10 points to secure the nonconference road win.
Max Plante, who notched his first shorthanded goal as a Bulldog, opened the scoring with two goals and two assists, while Zam added two power-play goals along with two assists. Shaugabay also delivered a standout performance, contributing one goal and three assists, showcasing the Bulldogs’ offensive prowess.
The Bulldogs quickly turned the tide, scoring three goals before the first intermission. Max Plante and Shaugabay leveled the score, with senior defenseman Joey Pierce scoring to give UMD the lead, aided by a clever feed from Max.
