UPDATE: Starting January 29, Fort Worth will be buzzing with creativity as Art Lab Thursdays launches an exciting after-school open studio art program for children ages 6–12. This initiative, led by Panthe City Artists, is designed to offer a vibrant, supportive environment where kids can explore various art materials and express themselves freely.
The program kicks off on Thursdays from 4:00–5:30 PM, providing a unique space for young artists to dive into painting, building, drawing, sculpting, and more. Each session begins with a brief, guided introduction, followed by open studio time, allowing kids to create at their own pace and build confidence in their artistic abilities.
This program emphasizes the joy of making over the pressure of perfection, encouraging children to embrace creativity without comparison. With activities ranging from paint and mixed media to clay and sculpture, and drawing and mark-making to collage and building materials, there is something for every budding artist to enjoy.
Parents and guardians can choose from flexible registration options: a $25 drop-in fee per session or a $95 monthly membership covering four Thursdays. This approach not only makes art accessible but also lets children immerse themselves in the creative process regularly.
As a nonprofit organization, Panthe City Artists is dedicated to inclusive, process-based art education, making this program particularly impactful for the local community. It aims to foster a love of art while allowing kids to express their individuality and creativity.
