Local Students Achieve Academic Excellence in Fall 2025

Several students from Henrico and Glen Allen have been recognized for their academic achievements during the fall 2025 semester at various prestigious institutions. These honors reflect their dedication and hard work in maintaining high grade point averages across diverse fields of study.

Outstanding Performers at the University of Tampa and University of Mississippi

Nicholas Birindelli and Lily Budzinski from Henrico, along with Sophia Nguyen from Glen Allen, have earned a place on the fall 2025 dean’s list at the University of Tampa. To qualify, students must achieve a minimum grade point average of 3.75 for the semester.

Additionally, several students from the local area have been named to the fall 2025 chancellor’s honor roll at the University of Mississippi. This list includes Elizabeth Shield, Addison Huffman, and Jennifer Stone from Henrico, as well as Gavin Rutherford from Glen Allen. To earn this distinction, students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours and maintain a grade point average between 3.75 and 4.00.

Furthermore, the fall 2025 dean’s honor roll at the same university recognizes Alexander Chernoff, Abigail Campbell, Michael Malbone, and others from Henrico, alongside Emma Perkins from Glen Allen. These students achieved a grade point average between 3.50 and 3.74 while enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Recognition at Other Institutions

In addition to these accomplishments, Rukhsara Yaqubi of Henrico has also been acknowledged on the fall 2025 dean’s list at the University of Arkansas, where students must earn a GPA between 3.75 and 3.99.

The College of William & Mary in Virginia has honored numerous students from Henrico and Glen Allen on its fall 2025 dean’s list. Local students achieving this honor include Hiya Agrawa, Rachel Barbuto, and Gavin Nomberg. To qualify, students must maintain a quality point average of 3.6 while enrolled in at least 12 credit hours.

Additionally, James Boyd from Henrico has been named to the fall 2025 dean’s list at Hamilton College. Boyd is a senior majoring in Economics and Environmental Studies and qualified by maintaining a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Other notable achievements include Caleb Weakland from Glen Allen and Everett Garner from Henrico, both of whom were recognized on the fall 2025 dean’s list at East Tennessee State University and Simmons University, respectively. These students also achieved a GPA of 3.5 or higher while enrolled in at least 12 credit hours.

Graduations and Special Recognitions

In a significant milestone, several students from Henrico County graduated from the University of Maryland Global Campus. Among those graduating are Dexter Hurt, Ma Antonette Frazier, and William Forrester. Forrester and Brittney McIntyre have qualified for the president’s list, an honor awarded to those who achieve a cumulative GPA of 4.0. Forrester earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, while McIntyre graduated with a degree in Human Resource Management.
