Arc Raiders Unveils Major Shrouded Sky Update with New Features

The highly anticipated update for Arc Raiders, titled Shrouded Sky, launched on February 24, 2024, introducing a wealth of new features that have excited the gaming community. Players can now explore a hurricane map condition, which will serve as a permanent rotation option for various maps, including Blue Gate, Buried City, Spaceport, and Dam Battlegrounds.

In addition to the dynamic weather effects, Embark Studios has revealed two new Arc machines: Firefly and Comet. These machines are designed to pose a significant challenge to players, with Firefly described as “a floating nightmare” equipped with a flamethrower that can incinerate raiders if they do not move quickly or find cover. Comet, on the other hand, patrols the terrain quietly, locking onto unsuspecting players before detonating with a powerful explosion.

To enhance gameplay further, players will need parts from these new Arc machines for a raider project aimed at building a weather monitoring system. This project, assigned by the character Shani, involves collecting materials from the environment to construct the system, rewarding players with additional benefits.

Significant Map Updates and New Cosmetic Options

The update also marks a historic moment for Dam Battlegrounds, as it receives its first major map update. A new area known as the Controlled Access Zone has been introduced, featuring high-security and high-value loot. Players will recognize this area by its distinctive Rocketeer chandelier, although its exact location remains undisclosed.

In addition to gameplay mechanics, the update includes a variety of new cosmetic options. Players can now sport the long-awaited beards, including free stubble and a full beard with a thick mustache, available in the new Surgeon Raider Deck. This deck introduces nurse and surgeon scrubs, which are expected to become the new attire for the game’s friendly Rescue Raiders.

For those looking for additional customization, a selection of new armor sets is available for purchase in the premium shop. These options cater to players willing to invest in their in-game appearance.

The update has not been without controversy, as some players have reported cheating incidents, with certain individuals spawning their own hatches to evade defeat. This issue has prompted calls for stronger measures against cheating, with community members expressing frustration about the current state of fair play in Arc Raiders.

With its mix of exciting new features and ongoing challenges, the Shrouded Sky update promises to keep players engaged as they navigate the evolving landscape of Arc Raiders.
