Community Mourns Loss of Ann Marie Ford, Cherished Crossing Guard

Ann Marie Ford, a beloved member of her community, passed away recently, leaving behind a profound legacy of kindness and service. Born in Rochester, NY, Ann moved with her family to California in 1972. She is remembered not only for her warmth but also for her dedication to the safety of children as a crossing guard at Alta Vista Elementary.

Throughout her life, Ann embodied compassion and love, touching the hearts of everyone she met. After her retirement, she found fulfillment in her role at the school, where she ensured that children could safely navigate their way to and from school each day. Her commitment to her community earned her deep respect and admiration from parents and residents alike.

Ann was predeceased by her husband, Donald Ford, her son Ken Ford, and grandsons Douglas and Kenny. She also lost her sisters, Carmela “Dolly” Gersonia and Grace Toscano, and brothers Ross, Carmen, and Angelo Toscano. Despite these losses, her spirit and legacy continue through her surviving family members, including daughters Pat (Andy) Peranelli and Kathleen (Steve Dupuy) Ford, as well as sons Don (Laurie) Ford and Brian (Martha) Ford. Ann is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom carry her memory forward.

Her sister, Josie (Zen) Guran, along with sisters-in-law Rose, Marina, and Jackie Toscano, will also remember Ann fondly.

In honor of her life and contributions, a graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. on February 21, 2026, at Green Hills Cemetery, located at 27501 S Western Ave, RPV, CA 90275. The community is invited to pay their respects and celebrate her life during this gathering.
