Yutan’s Jordyn Campbell Makes History with 200 Wins!

BREAKING: Jordyn Campbell, a senior wrestler from Yutan High School, has made history by becoming the first girl in Nebraska to achieve 200 career wins. This groundbreaking milestone was reached during the Cedar Bluffs Invite in late January, marking a significant moment in the world of high school wrestling.

“I never thought that I would be where I’m at today,” Campbell said, reflecting on her journey since she began wrestling at eight years old. Her achievement follows the NSAA’s sanctioning of girls’ wrestling in May 2021, emphasizing the rapid development of the sport in the state.

In addition to her 200th win, Campbell also set a new state record during the same tournament, recording her 177th career pin, which breaks the previous record for career pins in Nebraska. “I knew I was close, and it was super exciting to hit a milestone like that in my high school career,” she stated. The moment was made even more special when the announcer confirmed both records, leaving Campbell in awe. “Wow, I really did that,” she expressed.

Campbell’s coach, Dan Krajicek, praised her achievements as the result of relentless dedication and the right mindset for success. “It’s just a culmination of moment after moment. She has the right mentality for achieving a lot,” he said. Krajicek described Campbell’s wrestling style as straightforward and effective, focusing on fundamental moves rather than flashy techniques. “She can run anything, but she just goes down, takes girls down, and then pins them,” he added.

As Campbell prepares for the upcoming girls’ state tournament, which begins on February 17, 2026, at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, she is on track to potentially secure her third consecutive state championship. “It was just super surreal to feel that and hear that,” Campbell remarked, highlighting the emotional weight of her accomplishments.

The state tournament is set to commence just days away, and with Campbell’s recent success, all eyes will be on her as she aims for even greater heights. Her journey is not just a personal triumph but a significant moment for female athletes in wrestling and sports overall.
