Olpe and Lebo Secure Victories in Lyon County League Tournament

The Lyon County League Tournament concluded with competitive matchups, showcasing the talents of local high school athletes. In the girls’ final, the Olpe Eagles triumphed over the Marais de Cygnes Valley (MdCV) Trojans with a score of 65-59 on March 1, 2024. Meanwhile, in the boys’ final, the Lebo Wolves claimed victory against the Hartford Jaguars, finishing at 66-57.

In the girls’ championship game, Olpe’s standout player, Lilly Skalsky, led her team with an impressive 21 points, supported by Kayla Steinke, who contributed 15 points. For the Trojans, Akyra Traver delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 33 points, while Emily Criqui added 14 points to her team’s total.

Third-Place Matches Highlight Talent

The tournament also featured third-place games that further highlighted the skill of the participating teams. The girls’ third-place match saw Lebo defeat Burlingame with a score of 47-39. Ellie Grimmett was a key player for Lebo, scoring 11 points in the contest.
