BREAKING NEWS: Nelson “Ozzie” King has passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on January 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. His death marks a significant loss for the community, where he was cherished for his warmth and kindness.
Ozzie’s legacy includes over 44 years of dedicated service at Bethlehem Steel, where he rose to the position of General Manager of Hazardous Waste and Vehicular Services. After retirement, he continued to spread joy for another 14 years as a shuttle driver for Scott Cars, forming lasting friendships throughout his journey.
Born on September 21, 1938, Ozzie was not only devoted to his work but also to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of more than 33 years, Sara Phillips King, their children, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his legacy of love.
In his free time, Ozzie was known for his enthusiasm for the beach, casinos, NASCAR, and sports, passionately supporting the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. He was also a dedicated member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Bethlehem, where he contributed to the community with his compassionate spirit.
A Funeral Service is scheduled for 11 A.M. on February 6, 2026, at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home located at 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018. The family invites relatives and friends to pay their respects from 9:30 A.M. until the service. Following the service, burial will take place at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
In honor of Ozzie’s memory, the family requests that contributions be made to several charitable organizations, including The Sanctuary at Haafsville, Peaceable Kingdom, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
