Ashland Parishes Unite for First Lent Retreat on February 28

The Ashland St. Charles Borromeo and Frackville St. Joseph the Worker Catholic parishes are set to host their inaugural combined parish retreat on February 28, 2026. This event marks the first Saturday of Lent and will begin at 08:30 in St. Charles Borromeo Hall. The retreat will conclude with a 16:00 Mass at St. Charles Borromeo Church.

The theme of the retreat is “Be Not Afraid,” encouraging participants to step away from daily distractions and focus on their spiritual growth. According to a bulletin announcement, the retreat serves as an opportunity for parishioners to explore their relationship with God and foster a sense of trust in that relationship. Fundraisers and Literary Events in Shenandoah

The Shenandoah Valley Elementary PTO will host its ninth annual basket raffle fundraiser on March 6 from 16:00 to 20:00 and on March 7 from 09:00 to 15:00 in the gymnasium. Participants need not be present to win, and all community members are welcome to support the PTO’s initiatives.
