Marin City is set to host its 27th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration on January 15, 2026. The event, themed “charting a new blueprint for justice,” will feature keynote speaker Dana Emerson, the assistant superintendent and vice president of the College of Marin. Florence Williams, a staff member of the Marin City Community Services District, announced that the celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Manzanita Recreation Center gymnasium, located at 630 Drake Avenue.

The day’s activities will kick off with musical performances at 11 a.m., followed by the main program at noon. Attendees can enjoy lunch afterward at the senior center across from the gym. The event aims to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. while fostering community engagement and dialogue around justice and equality.

Utility Line Burial Project Begins in Mill Valley

Work will take place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, leading to intermittent lane closures on both the frontage road and Highway 101.
