URGENT UPDATE: The City of Florence has just announced the launch of its inaugural Mayor’s Academy, a groundbreaking civic education initiative aimed at engaging residents in local governance. Starting on February 12, 2026, and running through March 19, 2026, this hands-on program invites Florence residents, business owners, and community members aged 18 and older to discover the inner workings of their local government.
The Mayor’s Academy will take place every Thursday from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at the Florence Government Center, located at 8100 Ewing Blvd., Florence, KY. Participants will have the unique opportunity to engage directly with the Mayor and city department leaders, tour city facilities, and gain insights into the daily operations of various municipal departments.
This program is crucial for those who want to understand how decisions are made and how services are delivered in their community. By participating, residents will connect with key officials and witness firsthand the mechanisms that keep Florence running smoothly.
