PRO-PT Physical Therapy Expands Network with 20th Location

PRO-PT Physical Therapy has officially opened its 20th clinic, located at the intersection of Fowler Avenue and East Kings Canyon Road in southeast Fresno, California. This expansion marks a significant achievement for the company, which aims to enhance accessibility to physical therapy services in the region.

Todd Martin, president of PRO-PT Physical Therapy, emphasized the importance of convenience for patients. “When people attend physical therapy two or three times a week, that’s actually a lot of travel, especially if they have to travel across town,” he stated. Martin highlighted that in Fresno, travel times can often exceed 20 minutes, making this new location a vital resource for local residents.

The new clinic is designed to offer a range of specialized treatments, expanding options for the community. “By opening a clinic like this, we can actually increase availability for people and their treatment,” Martin explained. The facility is expected to employ at least five healthcare providers to meet the demands of the local population.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, California had over 24,000 physical therapists in 2023, illustrating the growing need for such services. David Harris, CEO of PRO-PT, noted the pressing demand for physical therapy, revealing that only about 10% to 12% of the population in need is currently receiving treatment.

In its inaugural week, the southeast Fresno location has already attracted at least 20 patients, with expectations of increased foot traffic as awareness of the new facility grows. PRO-PT Physical Therapy caters to patients of all ages, providing comprehensive care for various conditions affecting the spine, back, knees, and other body parts.

Harris elaborated on the nature of physical therapy, emphasizing that it goes beyond simple stretches or gym routines. “It’s how to do it properly,” he stated, underscoring the importance of guidance in selecting the right exercises. The ultimate objective is to improve patients’ overall functioning, enabling them to achieve independence upon completion of their therapy. “To treat people while they are here to become independent when they leave us,” Harris concluded.

This new clinic represents a significant step toward improving healthcare access in Fresno, providing tailored treatment options for those in need. As the community grows, so too does the commitment of PRO-PT Physical Therapy to enhance the quality of care available to local residents.
