Car Crashes into Burien Store, Witnesses Report ‘Loud Boom’

UPDATE: A car crashed into the Bueno Market in Burien just before 1:40 p.m. today, causing extensive damage to the storefront. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

Witnesses describe a chaotic scene filled with panic as the vehicle plowed into the market. “It was a loud boom; nobody really saw it; they just saw the impact. No one saw it coming; it scared everyone,” recalled Moises Guillen, a store employee who was present at the time. Guillen, who runs a restaurant inside the market with his family, expressed relief that no one was hurt during the incident.

The crash occurred after the driver mistakenly pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake, leading to significant portions of the car entering the building. Eyewitnesses reported that the driver managed to drive away from the scene, although the damage was considerable.

Despite the alarming situation, authorities confirmed that no injuries were sustained by customers or employees inside the market. The incident has left the community shaken, but thankfully, it resulted in no casualties.

As investigations continue, local officials are urging drivers to remain vigilant and cautious. This incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers of momentary lapses in focus while driving.
