UPDATE: The new Garland Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) officially opened its doors on January 8, 2024, and is already experiencing a surge in visitors from across Sampson County and beyond. The facility has quickly become a go-to destination for residents seeking efficient DMV services without the long wait times often associated with other locations.
Just last week, April Singletary, a DMV employee, assisted Carolyn Parker, who was eager to obtain her Real ID for travel. “I’m very excited about the DMV,” Parker stated. “We don’t have to go to Clinton or Elizabethtown; it’s right here in our hometown.”
The convenience of the Garland DMV is drawing in customers like Sreeja Kandukuri and her father, Janardhan Kandukuri, who traveled from Cary after researching options online. “We were looking for a DMV with low wait times and found Garland,” Sreeja explained. “A lot of the DMVs are very crowded, so it was nice to find this place.”
Residents have expressed gratitude for the new facility, especially those without easy access to transportation. Brian Short, a Garland native originally from New Jersey, highlighted the significance of having a DMV in town. “It’s a big step up for our community,” he noted. “Having this office makes it easier for everyone, especially those who can’t drive to Clinton.”
The Garland DMV is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be closed on January 1 for New Year’s Day. For additional information, residents can visit the official NCDOT website for online services and further details.
As the community embraces this new resource, the DMV’s swift opening and immediate impact have sparked excitement. Residents are eager to take advantage of the accessible services that were previously a challenge to obtain.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Garland DMV as it continues to serve the community and streamline essential services.
