A five-year-old boy tragically lost his life after becoming trapped in a ski travelator at the Asarigawa Onsen Ski Resort in Otaru, Japan. The incident occurred on December 28, 2023, while the young boy, identified as Hinata Goto, was vacationing with his family. Reports indicate that he fell while preparing to disembark from the travelator, leading to his right arm becoming caught in the machine’s mechanism.
Emergency responders were alerted, and it took rescue teams approximately 40 minutes to disassemble parts of the travelator to free the unconscious child. Following their efforts, he was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
